Now I can skim through world news in between your pictures of the Olsen twins and videos of cats in crocheted booties.
Treated recordings cassette project →
Three artists/bands participate in each event, each playing two of these shows, and for a third taking on the role of ‘sound engineer’ [using] one or more four-track cassette recorders, and one or more rapid cassette duplication machines […] for the live manipulation of the performed set.
Please bring a blank cassette to reproduce your own copy of the treated recordings. You...
I leave Halifax the day after tomorrow
and I promise there will be significantly fewer posts about shopping and clothes as soon as I get home.
Bra fitting tips
After today’s fitting with the “bra angel” (as my mother refers to the Polish woman at Sear’s) I have learned several things about finding a good bra.
Measure all the way around from under where your bra would sit. Add two inches and round up to get your number measurement.
Get a much larger cup than you would think. I’ve been wearing As and Bs my whole adult life...

I guess this was bound to happen at a certain point in the trip. But gah! I’m hiding in my room like a pre-teen.
Only in Halifax
would I leave my wallet at the bar and return by cab 20 minutes later to find it in the exact place I left it.

Among the rising creative industries are multimedia, video games, dance and drama. He hopes to be among the first to...
The phone rings in an empty house
Telemarketer: [pause]
Me: [checking caller i.d., noticing the call is from a 1-866 number]
Telemarketer: Yes, could I speak to Mr. Gold?*
Me: Um, no.
Hanging up the phone I thought about how little patience my mom has for telemarketers. She never answers their calls. I also thought about how 50% of my friends in Montreal work phone jobs in customer service, surveys, or sales.
*Incidentally, the only Mr. Gold in my family is my zaidie, who passed away 2 years ago this week.
With most people I know, Tumblr is like this secret world that makes no sense...
