Spent a hungover Saturday afternoon at Lil Biz, the yearly small business seminar put on by Pop Montreal. There were great workshops on accounting and taxes for artists, diy publicity and marketing, photographing your work, and grant programs. Picked up lots of tips (and a free Daniel Clowes book).

citizenvintage: Time-lapses make me so happy. We all look so cute zipping around the shop, installing a rack a minute, it almost make me forget that this is 12 hours of work compressed into a 5 minute video. So cool to see the store being built! Way to go ladies! The racks are looking great. Also, nice karate at the end :)

jenniferanne replied to your post: jenniferanne replied to your photo: Saw this guy… i think marmots and groundhogs are the same thing. i dunno about prairie dogs? Huh. All I know is it looked like the Alan! Alan! Alan! guy from the BBC. Except it wasn’t standing on its hind legs like in all the pictures of marmots/groundhogs/prairie dogs. I was surprised to see it in St. Henri. Maybe...

Last one! Hope you guys have enjoyed the peek into my apartment. citizenvintage: Tessa painting her nails, she always wears the best colours! What is your favourite occasion to dress for? I don’t get dressed for less than $10,000 a day. Actually, I like getting dressed for any old occasion: having tea with a friend, going to shows, house parties, picnics, or hanging out at home. Citizen Q & A with Tessa Smith: Part 2
citizenvintage: Which trend would you like to see make a comeback this year? Pattern-clashing seems to be doing pretty well for itself lately. I’d like to see that one continue. I wouldn’t mind if more people (myself included) learned to make their own clothes or at least to mend them. Which trend would you like to see retired forever? The eighties have kind of been done to death. I’m over...
