I’m really glad to have recently been introduced to another little pocket of pop music. Cameron posted about Makeout Videotape, which I can’t stop listening to. From there, I wandered down a myspace path that brought me to Montreal label, Arbutus (run out of Lab Synthese) and Sean Nicholas Savage, seen in the creepy and wonderful video above. I love finding stuff that’s nearby but been hidden.

Sean also sings in Silly Kissers, an eighties dance thing that Marilis has been trying to get me to listen to ever since she took photos of them. They have great melodies and idiosyncratic vocals, particularly on You Broke My Heart and Stethoscope.
