Here is my vegetable garden. Just dug ‘er up this spring and planted some stuff. Everything you see here I started from seed in my room this March with a fluorescent light fixture bought at the home depot for 13$, another 20$ for the bulbs and I was set.
It’s full on organic, used tons of compost from the last year to enrich the really terrible clay soil and I’m hoping things will live in it in spite of the fact that I didn’t have nearly enough organic matter to really improve the quality to any significant degree. Even including the five bags of topsoil stolen from the Home Depot parking lot.
Also, there is another plot by my fence and an herb garden beside the deck.
all told I am growing:
Swiss ChardBroccoli
Cabbage
Corn
Carrots
Sweet Peppers
Tomatoes
Bush and Pole and Black Beans
Cucumber
Zucchini
Watermelon
plus Basil, Oregano, Thyme, Parsely, Cilantro, Sage, Chives, Rosemary, Dill, and Mint.
So far the only failure has been lavender which I cannot get to germinate. I’ll try again next year.
I’ll keep posting photos as things develop, most of the rows are empty but for seeds so It’s not so impressive right now. Whee!
Inspirational garden pic.
