WARNING: I was really disturbed by some of the material in this trailer, but I think it’s an important film, so I’m posting it here. Just be warned and watch it when/where you’re comfortable.
It’s a preview for Sut Jhally’s Dreamworlds 3: Desire, Sex & Power in Music Video, which is a documentary that looks at the role of music videos as commercials, the development of sexual imagery through music videos, and the relationship between violence and sex in music videos and how it has affected our real relationships.
If you’re interested, you can watch the entire film online here*. Thanks to Gwen of Sociological Images for sharing the preview and streaming link.
*Update: The link I gave for streaming has “For Preview Only” written over the entire film. I’ve found it elsewhere without the text, so check your usual illegal streaming sites if you want an unobstructed viewing experience.
